The Itaipu Bi-national is the largest hydroelectricity producer in the world.
It`s embedded in the border of Brazil x Paraguay the dam is located on the Paraná River.
A few numbers:
- Production in 2010: 85.970.018 megawatts-hour
- Production record (september 2008): 94,684,781 megawatts-hour
- There are 20 generator units.
- Largest hydroelectric power plant regarding generation of energy.
